On October 22nd, 2009 Treatec 21 Industries Ltd. inaugurated at an I.D.F. camp in the south of Israel their first, state-of-the-art MSBS (Multi Stage Biological System) for wastewaters depuration without generation of excess sludge.

This advanced MSBS system, capable of handling ca. 100 m3/day and converting them to a tertiary-level quality effluent, depurates the camp's wastewaters which were so far directed to absortion cesspits and/or to the surrounding wadies - and from now on will be used for irrigating the groves surrounding the said camp.

Delegates from both the Israel Ministry of Defense and the I.D. F. who participated in the event, boldly expressed their appreciation for the short time required for installing and operating the system, as well as for the effectiveness of Treatec 21 Ltd.'s process and the positive results already achieved.
 
On May 2010, treatec21 has initiated a 200 m3/day pilot inside the aeration lake of "Nisgav" in Gedera. The technology used, Multi Stage Biological System, allows for upgrading, building and operating of aeration lakes with ability to reach high quality of treated water under low costs.

MSBS - MULTI-STAGE BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM

THE TECHNOLOGY

The MSBS (Multi stage biological system) enables a very efficient treatment of both municipal and industrial wastewater, providing for both lower costs and higher quality effluetsresulting from the use of a multi-stage continuous process.

Since there is no accumulation of exceeding organic sludge in this process, there is no need to continuously remove and treat it as in other solutions. Therefore, operational costs are siginficanly cheaper than other technologies.

 
THE BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY

The uniqueness of this system enables the development of adequate conditions for the growth of the different microorganism while favoring a cannibalism system for their mutual destruction and the disintegration of the organic sludge.

Further in the process, there is a constant diminution of the available "food", reducing the biological mass in a way that completes the process without any excess of organic sludge. At the same time, an high quality effluent is generated.

ADVANTAGES OF THE MSBS SYSTEM:

NO SURPLUS OF ORGANIC SLUDGE: significant reduction in investment and operational costs - due to the absence of sludge treatment, sometimes amounting to 40-50% of the overall cost.

AVAILABLE CONFIGURATIONS

ALL CONFIGURATIONS DETAILED BELOW, OFFER THE FOLLOWING PROPERTIES:

 

  • Generation of effluents offering tertiary and even quaternary treatment qualities, producing non-limited irrigation quality effluents and/or superb irrigation quality.
  • An immersed or an external membrane system is optional for the various configurations
  • Treatec21's UV systems is optional for the various configurations
  • Advanced systems for remote control and easy monitoring on the system's performance in order to achieve high quality control and savings in operation costs.
  • Top cover or full closure of the system roof either rigid or flexible.
  • For systems which are not end-of-line units, automatic control for recycling the effluent to the feeding line is optional.
 

MSBS BASED ON AN ISO-STANDARD CONTAINER

Implementation of the technology in a 20/40 feet ISO-standard container.

·         Permits mobility and positioning of the system at any convenient place.

·         Modular design facilitating easy increase/reduction of the capacity by adding or removing units.

·        Ranging from 25 m3/day to 500 m3/day 
·         Installing solar panels on the roof to generate electricity is optional.
 

CYLINDRICAL BASED MSBS

(ABOVEGROUND OR UNDERGROUND)

Hermetically sealed tanks of different sizes.

·         Buried depuration systems with minimal protruding above-the-surface parts.

·         Can be placed near residential areas and in public parks due to:

o    Closed construction protected against possible odors.

o    Emergency system facilitating evacuation of effluents in case needed.
o    Continuous remote controlof the system. 

·       Standard sizes ranging from 25 m3/day to 1,000 m3/day

 

MSBS AERATION PONDS

MSBSConstruction and upgrade of aeration ponds in order to improve effluent quality and yield
·         Treatec21 developed a system (duly patent-protected) in order to significantly increase the volume and quality of yield in existing aeration ponds.
·         Effluents at quality required for unlimited irrigation without building any additional, concrete-based depuration system.
·         Significant savings in both original investment and operational cost. 
 

CONCRETE-BASED MSBS SYSTEMS 

Implementation of the MSBS  technology in either aboveground or undergournd concrete structures.
